A Serious Subject.

I know people often joke about whether I might have OCD and this idea that I'm too precise in everything I do but the problem is this could be true. I could in fact have OCD and precision is a symptom of the "disease". I noticed it for a while and tried mentioning it but no one took action believing it to be something that could blow over in a few days - which is not the case. My dad even shrugged it off and laughed when i told him about my theory, referring to the state of my room. However, the state of my room is not the only outcome of OCD which was not encouraging from him. It also set me back for ages thinking that if I brought it up I would be laughed at again!

Basically from my point of view I see that I suffer from the obvious effects like: not wanting creased paper! And doing things in certain ways so things don't get muddled up, also eating foods in a specific order and not wanting to make mistakes. Though there's bigger things as well that happen within my mind like how I imagine a scenario that may happen if I don't do what I did previously so I repetitively do something so nothing goes wrong. Luckily after discussing this with my mum I managed to crack this habit a little, but it doesn't stop the ideas rotating in my mind..

This is obviously a more serious subject than what I normally do but I feel it necessary as maybe some of you readers feel the same.. And  by commenting, even anonymously, maybe I'd provide better help than if talking to a parent or guardian!

  1. Don't worry too much we all have a bit of OCD like I have to shut the cupboards a certain amount of times otherwise I'm like dead. So don't worry your probably just a perfectionist.

    1. That's probably true, but shutting cupboards over and over? They day we all get these from childhood memories, were you deprived of sweets or goodies as a child or something?

  2. I'm constantly touching door knobs, pulling doors so that the little lock thing touches the door frame, and touching random objects lol

    1. Interesting.. I have this thing against closing a door especially at night because of the thought of air circulating but nothing to do with stage door knobs themselves, what's yours in aid of?
